The American-born, Barcelona-based house producer takes on the Aphex classic.

You don’t remix a producer with as fervent a fanbase as Aphex Twin’s without knowing the stakes. With that in mind, Maceo Plex is direct in his remix of Aphex Twin’s 1992 cut ‘Polynomial C’: “dear haters, this is not a remix, it’s an edit,” he writes on Soundcloud, “and the intention is to make it possible for a dj to play Aphex’s beautiful classic in a modern techno set.”

Download the edit (not remix!) below and judge for yourself. For what it’s worth, ‘Polynomial C’ was one of FACT’s classic R&S cuts but did not appear on our list of Aphex Twin’s 50 best tracks.
