Miguel collaborating with Jessie Ware

The R&B crooner teases some of his upcoming collaborations.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Miguel opens up about plans for his follow-up to 2012’s Kaleidoscope Dream, set for a release this fall by ByStorm/RCA.

The singer has been writing new material, spending time in the studio with ‘Power Trip’ collaborator J. Cole and collaborating on a song with Devotion singer Jessie Ware. Meanwhile, his “wish list” of collaborators includes Kanye West, Mos Def, and Jack White, along with Cole and Kendrick Lamar.

“It was a little daunting because I wasn’t sure how rusty I’d be,” he says of the process. “I’d been collecting ideas and writing down concepts and phrases and all those things you hoard as you’re moving along, and that very first day in the first hour, we had something special.”

Miguel, who won last year’s Best R&B Song Grammy for ‘Adorn’, is nominated this year for ‘Power Trip’ (Best Rap/Sung Collaboration) and the Lamar-featuring ‘How Many Drinks?’ (Best R&B Performance). The Grammy Awards ceremony is tonight. His duet with Mariah Carey was one of FACT’s top songs of 2013.
