The German sound artist returns with “an isolated masterpiece of text, sound and synthesis.”

Like confrere Russell Haswell, Florian Hecker has a clutch of properly iconic noise records under his belt, typically produced using complex digital algorithm programs – see 2003’s forensic Sun Pandämonium or 2009’s Acid in the Style of David Tudor for particularly illustrative examples. Following 2012’s Chimerization and its accompanying book, Hecker has announced a new LP for long-time home Editions Mego.

The three-track Articulação will see Hecker team up once again with Iranian philosopher Reza Negarestani, who provides the libretto on opening track ‘Hinge*’, which also features vocal contributions from Joan La Barbara. Mego promise materials which recall Artaud’s Theater of Cruelty as much as Beckett’s minimalist narratives.” As ever, Rashad Becker is on mastering duty.

Articulação is due through Editions Mego on March 31. Click below to stream ‘Modulator (… meaningless, affectless, out of nothing …)’
