Another day, another utterly ridiculous scenario in the life of Toronto mayor Rob Ford.

This week he took time out of smoking crack, talking in Jamaican patois and generally making a spectacle of himself to rock up at a SXSW fundraiser for local beatmakers (who are being ‘coached’ by Boi-1da, incidentally).

After a lesson from local producer Memorecks, Ford gave the Ableton Push controller a bash (quite literally) and the results naturally appeared on the internet for all to enjoy. He gets pretty avant-garde by the end.

Memorecks later told the local newspaper: “He had some really quick fingers on the beat pads there. Usually when people start off they go really slow, but Rob was just going at it and he had really fast hands. His technical skills impressed me.” [via Beatport]
