Stream Grace Jones’ previously unheard Gary Numan cover from the Nightclubbing reissue

‘Me! I Disconnect From You’ appears on bumper Nightclubbing reissue.

As part of the Record Store Day festivities next month, Island Records is releasing a remastered and expanded version of Grace Jones’ 1981 LP Nightclubbing, adding a raft of bonus 12″ mixes and B-sides to the various available formats.

Among the extras is this previously unheard cover of ‘Me! I Disconnect From You’, a track by Gary Numan’s  new wave group Tubeway Army. Jones’ sharp ear for a cover version is what made Nightclubbing such an iconic album, of course, with Jones adding a sultry mood and a pinch of reggae to tracks by artists including Iggy Pop and Bill Withers.

The track premiered on the Guardian today – hear it below.

Check our previous post to find out the full details of the bumper reissue, which comes as a standard CD, deluxe CD, digital album, Blu Ray and a special gatefold double-vinyl version.
Nightclubbing (Deluxe version) is released on April 28.
