Dormant since the early ’00s, Justin Broadrick’s Godflesh project made a welcome return last year with a slew of shows that re-asserted them at the very top of the industrial metal tree.

Now they’re back with new material – their next EP, Decline & Fall is set to drop on May 26 on Broadrick’s own Avalanche imprint, and the duo have shared lead track ‘Ringer’. Thankfully it’s an absolute beast of a track, with pounding drum machine beats underpinning the kind of chunky wall of guitar noise we haven’t heard since, well, the last time we saw Godflesh play.

It certainly bodes well for the quality of the EP, which precedes proposed new full-length A World Lit Only By Fire, set to arrive in the fall. [via Pitchfork]
