Brazil reimagined on double CD collecting eight eclectic reworkings.

Over its 20-year lifespan, UK label Far Out Recordings has been on a mission to bring Brazilian music in all its varieties – jazz, samba, bossa nova, electronica and beyond – to the rest of the world.

To mark two decades in action, the label has put together a double CD under the header The Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra. On the first CD are contributions from Brazilian musicians Jose Roberto Bertrami, Arthur Verocai and Alex Malheiros backed by a full orchestra, while the second CD includes eight remixes from a fine bunch of producers, including Detroit faces Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman, Warp veteran Mark Pritchard and Midlands techno boss Mark E.

Hear Parrish’s gorgeously drawn out and Pittman and Pritchard’s efforts (which were first released as a 12″ last September) below. The Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra double CD is out on June 9 via Far Out. [via XLR8R and Thump]
