Italian producer continues rhythmic explorations on long player for Bristol’s Black Acre.

Black Acre has announced the debut album from Florence’s Clap! Clap!, Tayi Bebba, due out on September 08.

Clap! Clap! is the alias of local producer Digi G’Alessio, who put out a string of EPs under that name from the late 00s onwards before switching in 2013 to focus on more obvious dancefloor styles. He landed on Black Acre earlier this year with the Tambacounda EP.

Tayi Bebba continues the EP’s imagined exploration of African rhythms and their intersection with modern dance music styles, from house to hip hop and footwork. According to the label, the album “is a tour of an imagined island, each song representing a location, event or ritual. Sonically it’s a fast moving charge across the soundscape fusing field recordings and found sound with incredibly surgical drum programming.”

Wrapping up the conceptual angle is a full island map with in-depth story behind each track.
