Squelchy electro number extends its second life.
Last year Numbers put together a very desirable reissue of Glasgow DJ Dave Clark’s ‘Portland’, originally released in 2002 under his Sparky alias. The reissue came with two additional tracks from the 1998 ‘Portland’ sessions plus a pair of sprawling remixes by Ricardo Villalobos, both of which were designed to sound equally good at both 33 and 45rpm.
Six months later, the Numbers crew have lined up a second remix package, this time pairing ‘Portland’ with Tuff City Kids, aka Running Back boss Gerd Janson and Frankfurt-based producer Phillip Lauer.
The 12″ comprises the crunching breaks and raw acid of ‘Looney Mix’ on the A-side and the more euphoric and dreamy ‘TB Mix’ on the B-side. It’s due on July 28 on Numbers – preview both cuts below. [via XLR8R]
