Has he reached ‘national treasure’ status yet?

The DJ, producer, label boss, actor and orchestra conductor we know and love as Goldie is the focus of a new radio documentary set to air tomorrow (September 23).

Goldie The Alchemist traces the d’n’b pioneer’s story from his difficult childhood to his success as a DJ and subsequent struggle to come to terms with his past. Goldie tells his own story, with contributions from Pete Tong, DJ Fabio, 4Hero’s Marc Mac, Nihal Arthanayake and Dr Anamik Saha.

The documentary goes out at 11.30am tomorrow and you can listen again on BBC iPlayer.

This summer Goldie became the latest artist to put his stamp on Ministry of Sound’s Masterpiece mix series, while next month he’ll help celebrate 15 years of Fabric with a back-to-back set alongside Doc Scott on October 17. [via DJ Mag]
