Slugabed's wacky Activia Benz label introduces newcomer Toby Gale – hear ace slo-mo club jam 'Air Bones'

Slugabed presents the latest signing to his off-kilter imprint.

Activia Benz, the London-based label home to oddball DIY club jams from the likes of DJ DJ Booth, My Panda Shall Fly and DZA, has announced its “most twinkly lovely” release to date in the shape of producer Toby Gale’s The Good of the Night EP.

The EP follows his debut Starfruit EP for Tape Club Records last year and features five neon-splattered, 8-bit-influenced tracks straddling house and hip-hop tempos, plus a super glitchy remix from PC Music affiliate Maxo. Check out the ace slow-motion jam ‘Air Bones’ in the player below.

Slugabed provides some standardly amusing notes in the press release, stating: “[The EP] has a dreamy feel. It’s a bit like when you ride the horse around at night time on Ocarina of Time and there’s no one around and you feel very blissful.”

The Good of the Night EP drops on Activia Benz on November 10, with a limited poster release (which includes download link) arriving just before that. For more from the label, check out their compilation of “bangers and clangers” from this spring.
