Kate Tempest ousts FKA Twigs as favourite to win Mercury Prize

Bookies demote Twigs’ LP1.

Kate Tempest is the new favourite to win the Mercury Music Prize for her album Everybody Down. Previously pegged in second place, the rapper-slash-poet has had her odds cut to 5/2 by William Hill, overtaking FKA Twigs as the favourite to take home the prize money next week.

“There has been a recent rush of money for Kate Tempest, however it is still FKA Twigs that will see the biggest payout,” said Bill Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

The winner will be announced at London’s Roundhouse on October 29. Check out all the odds below. [via NME]
