The eighth studio album from the troubled rapper is due out very soon.

DMX will release Redemption of the Beast on January 13, marking his first album since 2012’s Undisputed. The album is being released independently by Seven Arts Entertainment (which also released Undisputed), but it’s unclear what exactly DMX’s role in putting the album together was; he hasn’t mentioned it on social media.

Update: AllHipHop reports that both DMX and producer Swizz Beatz have confirmed that Redemption of the Beast is not the album they are currently working on; we’re guessing Seven Arts owns the rights to some unreleased DMX material.

The cover art and tracklist are below; ‘It’s Goin’ Down’ is expected to be the first single. DMX has steered clear of the legal problems that have dogged him in recent years, and he appears as himself in Chris Rock’s new film Top Five.
