3024 boss Martyn is reissuing his 2009 collaboration with Hyperdub poet The Spaceape, who passed away last October.

‘Is This Insanity?’ comes from Martyn’s debut album Great Lengths and was his first collaboration with The Spaceape, written shortly after the vocalist’s daughter was born. As Martyn explains: “[The song] deals with the rollercoaster of emotions one goes through taking care of a new life. You carry on because there’s a responsibility, but at the same time you ask yourself whether this is insanity?”

He adds: “The tune got a massive boost in 2010 in the shape of Ben Klock’s monumental remix of it. That record has been out of stock for ages, so I put that on the B-side here for you. I treat this record as a memory but you’re more than welcome to bang it out in the club of course!”

The vinyl also features the previously unreleased track ‘Camberwell Green’ and comes in a stamped sleeve with the B-side in black as a tribute. It’s out on January 26. Hear the original (via Spotify) and the Klock remix below.
