Kim Gordon describes final Sonic Youth show in Girl In A Band audiobook excerpt, debuts new song

“It was a strange place for things to come to an end”.

Billboard’s podcast Alt In Our Stars featured Kim Gordon as a guest today where she unveiled the first five minutes of the audiobook to her upcoming memoir Girl In A Band. The book opens describing the final Sonic Youth concert at a festival on November 14, 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. You can listen to the excerpt just about four minutes into the recording. If you move to a little past the 18 minute mark, the show closes with a brand new Kim Gordon song titled ‘Close Your Eyes’.
