Tinashe recruits Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Cirkut for next album

The singer is looking to finish the follow-up to Aquarius by fall.

In an interview with Spin, Tinashe explains what she learned from the Aquarius recording process and hints at how her second album with be different.

One thing to expect: a poppier direction. “I’m not really interested in doing like, down-the-middle EDM songs,” she says, “but I’d like to figure out how to do that uptempo.” To that end, she’s working with pop hit-makers Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Cirkut and Rock City.

“I’m definitely trying to make songs that are hooky enough to cross over,” she says, with her ultimate goal a number one album and a Grammy. Earlier this year, Tinashe shared her Confessions with FACT TV.
