Slackk goes all night to celebrate the launch of Backwards Light.
Scouser down South and Boxed co-founder Slackk has enjoyed an enviable run of recent records – Minor Triads, Failed Gods and his debut album Palm Tree Fire all use grime as a starting point, but feel as much to do with Desert Sessions and oddball jazz in terms of mood.
The latest of these records, Backwards Light, arrives today on R&S, and features some of his grandest material yet (‘Monument’, ‘Sleeper Carriage’), as well as experiments with acid and more. To celebrate the record’s release, Slackk will be DJing at night at Peckham record store-cum-venue Rye Wax. Capacity, as ever with Rye Wax, is limited, so attendees are recommended to buy tickets in advance. They’re available from Slackk’s Bandcamp.
