Waldorf’s unique production software line has two fresh additions.

The freshly released Nave for Mac is based on the iPad synth of the same name. A wavetable synth whose legacy stretches back to the 1981 PPG Wave, Nave is still one of the iPad’s most powerful offerings – it featured in our recent list of the 10 best synths for iPad. The Mac version features the same unique graphical interface and otherworldly sound design capabilities as its sibling.

Attack Drums for iPad is a drum synth based on the VST plug-in from 2001, and features a 24-part sound engine as well as a pattern sequencer and fully-equipped effects section. One of the more intriguing effect is the Phrase Vocoder, which lets you create music by entering written text instead of spoken words.

Nave for Mac is available now from the Waldorf Store for €149.00, while Attack Drums for iPad is available now from the App Store at an introductory price of $14.99/£10.99, rising to $19.99/£14.99 after June 26.

You can see video examples of both below. Alternatively, check our list of the 9 best VST effects.
