The Italian hardware obsessives serve up a varied four-tracker.
Hypercolour will release a new EP from The Analogue Cops next month. Monkey Suits is Lucretio and Marieu’s third outing on the label following two EPs for HypeLTD. Monkey Suits collects four contrasting cuts of bit-crushed techno and loopy Chicago house.
EP opener ‘Vampire Killer’ is a face-melting techno number built upon a clever sample from the MSX2 video game of the same name. Also on the A-side is ‘Shinobi’, another chiptune-influenced track that recalls “late night Sega and SNES sessions and the days of proto-house.” The flip side is reserved for the loopy bounce of ‘Corona’ and beautifully simple, Chicago-indebted burner ‘McGraw’.
Monkey Suits will be released via Hypercolour on July 17.
