A chillwave survivor moves onto a new project.

Phil Jones first emerged in the late aughts as the leader of indie rock act Dog Bite, eventually releasing a pair of albums for Carpark and touring alongside Toro y Moi. His new project, Haunted, coalesces the chillwave he helped push as part of Washed Out’s live band and the scattershot sounds of Dog Bite.

“I’m just riding my own wave now,” he told Fader last month. That wave seems to be high gloss electronic grooves, whether crystalline synth jams like ‘Raw Shoulder’ and ‘Soft Night’, or the darker-hued standout ‘Budder’.
