UPDATE: Young Thug was arrested for reportedly threatening to shoot a mall security guard.

According to documents obtained by The Fader, the “terroristic threat” the rapper was accused of and arrested for was threatening to shoot a mall police officer in the face. The event took place July 7th at the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia and reportedly occurred as the rapper was being escorted from the mall.

The rapper is reportedly in jail awaiting a court hearing.

Young Thug was arrested this morning by US Marshals under suspicion of making terroristic threats, Complex reports.

The warrant for the rapper’s arrest was issued by the Dunwoody police department, where the incident took place. He was then taken into custody by officers “without incident” and transferred to the DeKalb county jail to await his court appearance and bail hearing.

Further details as to what threats the rapper issued to gain a warrant for his arrest are currently unclear, but given the definition of a “terroristic threat”, it could be almost anything.
