Watch D’Angelo’s first television interview in over a decade

The singer discusses Black Messiah, religion, and his influences.

Earlier this week we learned that D’Angelo would appear on PBS’ The Tavis Smiley Show in what would be his first televised interview in over a decade. Now you can stream the two-episode interview below.

It’s an incredible, in-depth interview which finds D’Angelo reflecting on his musical influences, the overwhelming international response that Black Messiah has received, and the influence of his religious upbringing on his work. Watch it below and revisit our review of Black Messiah. [via Pitchfork]
