Help Seth Troxler cook for the homeless at ADE

By , Oct 7 2015

Seth Troxler will cook up a three-course meal for Amsterdam’s homeless at this year’s ADE.

The DJ and champion chef, who also runs his own BBQ meat joint, Smokey Tails, will take part in a special edition of the ADE DJ Cook-Off – which he’s won three times in a row – at the walk-in shelter De Kloof on October 14.

The Cook-Off is part of a partnership between the dance festival and the 10,000 Hours Foundation. “During ADE, Amsterdam welcomes over 100,000 visitors from Holland and abroad,” they explained in a press release. “But while those party people can jump into warm beds after a night of dancing, there is a growing group of people wondering where they are going to sleep that same night.”

The number of people asking for help from organisations like De Regenboog Groep, which runs the De Kloof shelter, has tripled in the last four years, they added.

Troxler has invited fans as well as friends DJ Makam and Radio Noet-Noet to help him cook lunch for 75 people, and volunteers can apply to be part of the event by sending a “short letter of motivation” to info@10000hours.nl before October 2.

Incidentally, Troxler is also lending his support to UK homeless charity Shelter by auctioning the slinky red dress he wore to Fabric’s 14th birthday.
