Yeah Yeah Yeahs art star Karen O has written a song for Lara Croft’s return.

‘I Shall Rise’ will appear in Rise of the Tomb Raider and, according to O, is her own version of ‘I Will Survive’.

“I think [the game’s makers] wanted to bring on the melodrama,” she explained. “They wanted something emotional with a dramatic build. It’s kind of the theme of Lara’s creation myth, the moment that defines her becoming an icon. It was really juicy stuff for me. I’m really into making melodramatic songs.”

O added that a Yeah Yeah Yeahs reunion was unlikely in the near future, but didn’t rule out the possibility eventually. She’s currently taking time out after having her first child following the release of her debut solo album Crush Songs. [via Rolling Stone]
