Listen to the broken footwork of ‘Elizet’s a Futurist’.
Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley producer and performance artist Cary Allison makes experimental, electronic pop under the alias Cat 500, joining her processed vocals with bass-heavy beat sequencing and vintage synthesizer noodling.
“Cat 500 is what my music is called, and is a venue for me to express different perspectives,” she writes, adding somewhat cryptically, “CURY is a female archetype and ABIMAN is the male archetype. Cat500 is another character but its a secret what that is.”
The Comp is a collection of songs from her formative years, and it will be released by Leaving Records on November 13.
Stream ‘Elizet’s a Futurist’ below and catch her at the record release party (also on November 13) at the Stones Throw pop-up with contemporaries Mndsgn, Ahnnu, SFV Acid and more.
