Michael Jackson’s Thriller is the biggest album of all time.

It’s sold something in the region of 60 million copies, picked up eight Grammy Awards, produced one of the most-watched music videos of all time, and is so good that seven out its nine tracks were released as singles (which means a hell of a lot of people basically own that album twice).

Anyway, Thriller turns 33 today, and to celebrate that landmark birthday, Google Play has decided to give away this defining pop cultural moment for nothing.

US residents who don’t yet own a copy can download Thriller here.

In other MJ news, the pop icon’s last days will be chronicled in a new TV series based on a book by Tavis Smiley. [via Stereogum]
