The techno bludgeoner tries a calmer, creepier mood on his latest remix.
After releasing his third full-length as Chevel on Lucy’s Stroboscopic Artefacts in September, Italian techno craftsman Dario Tronchin has recruited a diverse but heavyweight squad of UK remixers for a new EP.
Along with reworkings from R&S technoise sculptor Paula Temple, PAN explorer Lee Gamble and Trilogy Tapes rookie Minor Science is a dreamy cut by one of the UK’s finest techno operators, Perc. His version of Blurse cut ‘Heimweh’ puts the focus on rippling textures and glassy drones, building an ominously still mood that’s undercut by dissonant bell-like synths.
Blurse Remixed is out tomorrow (December 4) via Stroboscopic Artefacts. Check out samples of the Chevel’s album, Blurse, on SoundCloud.
