The Posture artist tackles the city’s tumultuous year.

Khalfaniglobal is a member of Chicago’s Posture crew, and he’s released a handful of songs over the last several years. 2016 will see the release of two projects, KRUSH and Hallucinations Bass Vibrations II, that Khalfani is previewing with a new song.

On the moody, soulful ‘Gang Signs’, the rapper weighs in on gang affiliation, the bastardization of drill music, protests in the wake of the police’s murder of Laquan McDonald and more.

Spike Lee, the director of the controversial Chi-raq, isn’t let off easy, either. “Thanks, Spike Lee / turn that into a comedy / Oscar from the Academy / not a real one at that, just honorary,” Khalfani sneers. Stream ‘Gang Signs’ below.
