An essential garage cut returns to wax.

Almost 20 years after Roy Davis Jr. teamed up with singer Peven Everett to record ‘Gabriel’, the peerless 12″ is set to get its first vinyl reissue through Large Records.

Anyone with even a passing interest in dance music will agree that ‘Gabriel’ is both a timeless classic and a pivotal record in the convergent histories of house and garage – and DJs can still turn a dancefloor into putty with those horns.

The track is being reissued on US imprint Large Records with the UK spelling ‘Gabriel’ (the original Large release had it as ‘Gabrielle’, the XL edition as ‘Gabriel’) with four versions, including the best-known Live Garage Mix. Grab it here. [via The Vinyl Factory]
