The BCR Incubator aims to kickstart the careers of under-represented producers in Berlin.
Berlin Community Radio has launched a competition offering Berlin-based musicians the chance to win a residency on the station alongside artists like Laurel Halo, Palms Trax and Physical Therapy.
Focusing on under-represented and marginalised creative voices including women, queer and trans artists of colour, producers from immigrant backgrounds and other marginalised groups, the BCR Incubator also offers a number of prizes that should help kickstart the winners’ production careers.
As well as receiving the opportunity to perform at BCR’s Club of the Month and a mentorship with a BCR-affiliated producer of their choice, the four winners will receive a press photoshoot, professional Ableton training and a full release and international PR campaign for their winning production.
Applicants must be based in Berlin and have completed at least one track, which can be self-hosted on SoundCloud, YouTube or Bandcamp. Tracks will be judged by a panel including BCR residents rRoxymore, Anastazja Moser and Sarah Miles, Discwoman founder Frankie Hutchinson, Truants’ Soraya Brouwer and NTS Radio’s Tabitha Thorlu-Bangura.
Entrants have until April 25 to apply for the BCR Incubator. Full rules and details on how to apply can be found at the Berlin Community Radio website.
