Their final show in 1983 has been professionally preserved and will be unearthed publicly this year.

Athens, GA band Pylon who were influential to indie rock for their new wave, post-punk and jangle pop-influenced music and for, essentially, naming legendary Athens rock club the 40 Watts Club are set to release a 7″ and 2xLP of their final live show.

The 7″, which was recorded at their final show in 1983 in their hometown at the Mad Hatter, will feature their cuts ‘Gravity’ and ‘Weather Radio’, will be released on April 20. The live full-length is out July 25, the birthday of late member Randall Bewley.

The three remaining members still perform live as the Pylon Reenactment Society in tribute to Bewley and will perform at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta on May 14.
