Thousands gathered in Fort Greene to remember Prince.

As tributes to Prince flooded in following news of his death, director Spike Lee hosted an impromptu block party in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn to celebrate his legacy.

The party, “PRINCE We Love You Shockadelica Joint”, took place in front of Lee’s 40 Acres & A Mule studio. The police cordoned off the area and the Associated Press reported around 1000 fans attending the event while Lee estimated some 5000. See footage of it below.
