One of the Brooklyn collective’s strongest voices makes his first full-length statement.

IZY has always been a highlight of Brooklyn fried bass collective Swim Team. The Bridgeport, CT-born rapper threw an unexpected lyrical intensity into the swarming productions of AceMo, Color Plus and more with early tracks like ‘Ghost’ and ‘Main Bitch’. Tomorrow, he’ll release his debut album Who The Hell Is Me, which is not just a leap forward for him, but Swim Team, as a whole

IZY’s ability to rap within his cohorts’ abstract productions feels even stronger here and he’s joined by Swim Team associates like Juxman, AceMo and Elgo. What’s even more interesting is how he takes charge himself — nearly half of the album was produced by IZY while working between Bridgeport and New York. Now he’s relocated to Brooklyn and Who The Hell Is Me ensures quite an arrival.

Look for Who The Hell Is Me tomorrow via Bootleg Tapes and listen to the raucous Juxman-produced ‘Soakin’ below.
