20-year-old work surfaces online.

A collection of supposed Kanye West beats from 1997 has surfaced online, reports Complex. The eight-track compilation was uploaded to SoundCloud (listen below) from a tape reportedly bought on eBay a few years ago. But if a liberal use of samples is what you need as proof, then the proof is in the streaming pudding.

The internet’s vigilante Kanye archivists over at KTT point out that two of the beats on the tape have been heard before, one for Grav’s ‘6 City to City’ and another for Infamous Syndicate’s ‘What You Do To Me’. This might work as ample proof for some as well.

These two tracks seem to confirm the legitimacy of the tape, but there still is no official confirmation that this is nearly-two decades-old work from Mr. West.
