The prolific hardware outfit return with a vinyl-only LP.

Tinfoil mask-wearing Swedish acid trio Frak are to release an album on Glasgow’s Ultimate Hits, a label affiliated with the Scottish city’s Rubadub shop.

As RA reports, the untitled album consists of eight new tracks and includes artwork designed by Planet Mu’s Konx-om-Pax and screenprinted by House of Traps, the artist behind Edinburgh’s Firecracker Recordings.

Frak have been releasing music since the late ‘80s, but have found recent fame in the past four years with releases on labels including Kontra-Musik, DJ Sotofett’s Sex Tags Mania and reissue specialist Dark Entries.

Ultimate Hits launched in 2015, and specialises in music from the fringes of house and techno. As well as music from 1080p artist Max McFerren and New York veteran Willie Burns, Swedish synthesist Peder Mannerfelt has released an EP on the label.

UH006 will be released on LP format later this month. Until then revisit the trio’s 100% original material FACT mix, which features plenty of music from their own Börft label.
