Along with Taye Diggs and Xzibit.
Kid Cudi has signed on for season three of FOX’s breakthrough music industry drama Empire. He will join the cast as the character Gram, a new adversary to Hakeem Lyon, who had his own set of woes in season two—from rivaling with his father Lucious Lyon (played by Terrance Howard) and having some serious romantic hiccups, including his fiancée calling of their wedding. (And that is the least spoiler-y of it.)
Cudi’s character will also be dating Hakeem’s ex Tiana, according to Entertainment Weekly, which broke the news.
Earlier this week it was announced that Taye Diggs would also join the cast as a local political figure who will play the love interest of Taraji P. Henson’s Cookie Lyon. Xzibit, who appeared in the season two finale as Shine Johnson will become a regular cast member.
Watch the Empire clip for ‘Drip Drop’ from season one because it is still wonderfully ridiculous.
Empire returns to television on September 21.
