The North Carolina rapper drops her first release since signing to Roc Nation.

Fresh from collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak, Rapsody has released a new project titled Crown featuring guest spots from Ab-Soul and Raphael Saadiq.

The 10-track release is the first that the North Carolina rapper has put out in 2016 and follows her 2014 EP Beauty and the Beast. Her last album, The Idea of Beautiful, came out in 2012.

Over the past year, Rapsody made a guest appearance on Anderson .Paak’s Malibu cut ‘Without You’ and the West Coast artist returns the favour on soulful number ‘OooWee’.

The EP follows a standout guest spot on ‘Complexion’ from Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly in 2015.

During her set at this year’s Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival in July, Rapsody announced that she signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation record label. The rapper has been working on a full-length follow-up to her debut since at least 2015 but is yet to announce a release date.
