The awards show will air in less than a month.

Donald Glover’s hip-hop inspired drama Atlanta has been nominated for two Golden Globes.

Atlanta, which Glover has described as “Twin Peaks with rappers”, was nominated for Best Comedy Series with Glover receiving a nom for Best Lead Actor.

The nominations for the 74th annual awards, announced on Monday morning, also saw Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson recognised for his score for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi movie Arrival.

Stranger Things, Netflix’s popular sci-fi/horror drama, received a nomination for Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actress for Winona Ryder. The popular score by SURVIVE was not nominated.

Nominees in the Best Original Song category include Stevie Wonder (for Sing), Lin-Manuel Miranda (for Disney’s Moana) and Justin Timberlake for ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling!’ from Trolls.

The 2017 ceremony will be hosted by Tonight Show comedian Jimmy Fallon and will air on Sunday, January 8. Read the full list of nominees here.
