Contemporary Color, a new documentary about David Byrne’s 2015 celebration of flag-spinning art form color guard, is coming to theaters on March 3. The event, which took place at Barclays Center, featured “synchronized dance routines involving flags, rifles and sabers.”

Byrne recruited artists and public figures like Dev Hynes, St. Vincent and This American Life host Ira Glass, among others, to collaborate with ten different US and Canada-based color guard teams to create new performance pieces for the showcase.

Filmmaking brothers Bill and Turner Ross, known for their documentary Western, are the directors behind Contemporary Color. The film debuted last year at the Tribeca Film Festival, where it took home honors for Best Documentary Cinematography and Best Documentary Editing.
