The experimental weekender will kick off with a special pipe organ performance from Anna Von Hausswolff.

Supersonic Festival has announced the first names for this June’s event in Digbeth in Birmingham, led by Jenny Hval, the Norwegian artist behind FACT’s #1 album of 2016.

The weekend begins on June 16 at an opening concert in the Grade I listed Town Hall with Anna Von Hausswolff performing on the venue’s famous pipe organ, an instrument which played a major part on the Swedish musician’s latest album The Miraculous.

The festival continues over the weekend with performances from Colin Stetson, Arbouretum, Melt Banana, Laura Cannell, Oxbow, Princess Nokia, Raime and Zu. More artists are set to be announced in the coming months.

Talks, discussions, workshops, screenings and exhibitions are also planned for the weekend, with tickets on sale now.
