The hit that became a meme that became an even bigger hit.

Future’s ‘Mask Off’ has been dominating radio and streaming since its release and now the infectious track has become his highest charting single ever after rising to no. 7 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

The single, which inspired a popular meme where fans added the flute hook to film and TV clips, marks Future’s second top 10 single and his first as a solo artist.

In a preliminary and coincidental crowning of its success, Future appeared during Kendrick Lamar’s headlining performance at Coachella last night and played ‘Mask Off’. While other guests, including Travis Scott and Schoolboy Q, performed songs that featured Lamar, the headlining rapper gave Future free (purple?) reign to do his own thing.
