Today’s Daily Download is a new track from estimable vocal talent Donn T.

Simbad, the mercurial French producer whose work occupies the fertile ground between house and broken beat, and who recently crafted a superb FACT mix, is at the controls.

‘Look At’ is being released as a single this month, with remixes from Maddslinky (Zed Bias), FACT fave Altered Natives, Toddla T and Matthew, via the MoreAboutMusic label. It’s taken from the album Kaleidoscopic, due out in June.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Donn brings old school soul grit to her vocal performance, recalling Jill Scott and Jazmine Sullivan, combining with Simbad’s bruk beats and gear-shifts to sublime effect. It’s the kind of blistering future soul that these guys dreamed of.
