FACT’s favourite eternal backpacker will be broadcasting weekly on Radio 1 and 1Xtra from this Saturday, April 7.

The show, entitled “Diplo & Friends”, and will feature regular guest slots from artists affiliated with the producer and his label Mad Decent. Forthcoming guests include Lunice, Dillon Francis and Brodinski. Tune in from 1-3am every Saturday to hear the man in action.

Off the back of recent confirmed slots for UK heroes Julio Bashmore and Mosca – not to mention Gilles Peterson’s departure from the station – the announcement compounds a shift of gear in Radio 1’s music programming. Clearly somebody at the top has been going to a lot more clubs recently.
