Legendary pillars of the New York hip-hop community Wu-Tang Clan and D-Block have joined forces for a new album.

Wu-Block [artwork pictured] is described as mixing “the rap style, lyrics, beats, imagery and ideology” of the Wu-Tang clan with “the flow, underground star power, hard hitting bars, street story telling and bass rattling sounds” of D-Block – a killer combination, we’re sure you’ll agree. Ghostface Killah, Sheek Louch, Method Man, Raekwon The Chef, GZA, Jadakiss, Masta Killah, and Styles P all make appearances.

Ghostface had some predictably excellent thoughts to share on the album: “This is a unique album combination like carnation milk with oatmeal. And a dash of cinammon. We got killing on lock. It’s like assassination day – nothing but darts being thrown. It’s like Batman and Robin shit. It’s real street sh*t for the fans. They’ve been thirstin’ for this.”

The first single taken from the album, ‘Union Square’, features Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch – you can listen to it below. It’s available on iTunes now, and will be followed by ‘Stick ‘Em Up’ featuring Sheek Louch, Ghostface Killah and Jadakiss, which is due out soon.

Wu-Block due for release in the UK on October 8
