Lady Gaga's ARTPOP to be multimedia project

Mother Monster tells her social network, “ARTPOP is not just an ALBUM its a PROJECT.”

Taking her cues from Björk’s Biophilia, the glam popstar will release her upcoming fourth album as an interactive app, in addition to traditional media.

According to a message on Little Monsters, ARTPOP will be released as an iPad, iPhone, mobile and desktop compatible application called WORLD. It will include chats, films for each song, additional content, “Gaga inspired games,” fashion updates, magazines, and more. Gaga will also be able to update the platform after its release like any of her other social networks.

“You inspired me to create something that communicated with images, because YOU do, YOU communicate with me and each other with .gifs and pictures, and artwork, graphics ALL DAY 24/7,” said Gaga. “YOU’RE an ARTPOP generation. Im hoping you will all continue to grow together and stay connected through your creativity.”

There’s still no release date for ARTPOP, in any form, but Gaga just added a North American leg to her massive world tour which takes her through the spring.
