oOoOO associate Butterclock preps debut EP

Like her contemporaries, the Berlin vocalist explores the weirder corners of pop music.

Butterclock first came to our attention when she contributed otherworldly vocals to oOoOO’s Tri Angle EP Our Love Is Hurting Us. Much in the way that his EP explored the poppier instincts of the scene-formerly-known-as “witch house,” Butterclock’s debut First Prom promises the tape-melted trance stabs, stuttering hip-hop beats, and ghostly vocals of so much “weird pop.”

That’s definitely the formula in play on Butterclock’s ‘Don’t’ (below), a song that also favors a dancefloor energy not always present in the works of her contemporaries. A limited run of First Prom CDs are available next month on o F F is love imprint F A N T A S Y m u s i c. [via BrooklynVegan]
