Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich’s Atoms for Peace have announced their first live shows of 2013.

We already knew that the group, which comprises the aforementioned Radiohead frontman and producer plus Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Mars Volta), Joey Waronker (drummer for Beck and later REM) and Mauro Refosco (percussionist for David Byrne and others), had booked in three DJ shows for the coming month, the first of which takes place in London tonight with support from Throwing Snow and Actress. We now have confirmation of three European festival shows [via CoS] at Germany’s Melt (July 19-21), Serbia’s EXIT (July 10-14) and Slovakia’s Bazant (July 11-13). Atoms for Peace originally started as a means to play material from Thom Yorke’s solo album The Eraser live, and so seeing the group return to the live arena with an album, AMOK, under their belt should be very interesting indeed.
