Giorgio Moroder, Beck to create new works for Doug Aitken's Station to Station; Ariel Pink will live on the train

More details on Doug Aitken’s art happening / U.S. train tour.

First announced earlier this year, Aitken’s Station To Station tour will bring artists to ten cities for site-specific happenings. Musicians on the bill include Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth, Dan Deacon, Savages, No Age, and more.

According to Pitchfork, Giorgio Moroder, Beck, and Ariel Pink will create new works for the tour. Moroder will play a composition built on field recordings “made entirely on the moving train” at the stop in Winslow, Arizona, while the stop in Barstow, California will see Beck perform a work “created and composed exclusively for the event.”

True to form, Ariel Pink will live on the train and use it as a studio, collaborating with other artists to create “a modern song-cycle that speaks to our times.” The Station To Station schedule is below, along with a trailer for the project.
