Drake gives 'Hood Grammys' to Bobby Shmurda, iLOVEMAKONNEN and more

Drake has provided an alternate ‘Hood Grammys’ on Instagram, recognising a host of up and coming artists.

With his finger never too far from the pulse of rap, Drake decided to give out his own ‘Hood Grammys’ on Instagram overnight for categories including ‘Best Latin Club Anthem’ and ‘Best All Around Turn Up’.

Drizzy, reigning champ in the actual Grammy category of Best Rap Album, shouted out a selection of mostly fledgling artists on the social network. Amongst the winners were breakout sensation Bobby Shmurda, for his unlikely no-hook smash ‘Hot Nigga’, and Mike Will-mentored duo Rae Sremmurd.

Drake also gave nods to two artists that he had scouted to his OVO imprint earlier this year. Enigmatic Atlanta rapper and singer iLOVEMAKONNEN was awarded for his anthemic breakthrough single ‘Tuesday’ whilst PARTYNEXTDOOR was singled out for mixtape of the year.
