The first trailer for the Beach Boy biopic has been released.

Paul Dano takes a break from being the bad guy (12 Years A Slave, There Will Be Blood) to play a young Brian Wilson in the forthcoming movie of the pop legend’s life, Love And Mercy. John Cusack steps in as the middle-aged Wilson for the film, which “paints an unconventional portrait of the artist by interweaving seminal moments in his life.”

Directed by second-timer Bill Pohlad (a producer on 12 Years S Slave and The Tree of Life), the film also stars Paul Giamatti as Wilson’s psychotherapist Dr Eugene Landy, and Elizabeth Banks as his second wife Melinda.
